Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Wednesday 1st August, the Prep children will be visiting Chesterfield Farm. This visit is part of our Term Three investigation topic – ‘Down on the Farm’. Children will have the opportunity to observe the daily workings of a farm such as milking cows, shearing sheep, feeding the animals, and learn about farm produce.

We will be travelling by bus, leaving school at 9:15am and will return at approximately 2:45pm. Children will not be taking any bags with them on the excursion. Children are to bring both their morning snack and lunch in separate labelled, disposable bags as well as a labelled drink bottle.

For this special outing to the farm, the children are not required to wear school uniform. They are encouraged to wear appropriate farm yard attire for being outdoors. E.g. gumboots, jeans, flannelette shirts or polar fleece and a warm waterproof jacket.

The cost of the excursion is $24, which will come from the pre-paid excursion levy. If you have not paid the excursion levy, then this amount will need to be paid.

We will need two parent helpers per class on the day. If you are interested in attending, please speak to your classroom teacher.

Please provide online consent and payment via Compass by Friday 27th July, 2018.

Regards,

Lily Collins, Hayley Greeves, Christine Hiland and Barb Maclarn
