French Day

Dear Parents and Students,

The theme for French Day this year is the famous bicycle race "Le Tour de France". Students have already learnt a few things about it in the first weeks of Term 3, and we will endeavour to create an all-school mural representing some stages of "Le Tour" that will be displayed in the Library Lab once complete.  Students will also enjoy a French Themed show performed by" Les Batons Francais".

As there will be another dress-up day on the same week for Book Week, we will keep it simple this year and all students are encouraged to come to school wearing bleu, blanc et rouge (red, white and blue), the French national colours. Students will also be able to purchase a special French treat consisting of a hot chocolate and croissant. It will be on sale for $2 between 1pm - 1.50pm at the canteen.

Parent help is requested, to prepare craft boxes before the day, to help teachers and students the morning of the day, or to help put the mural together in the afternoon of Tuesday August 29th. If you can help, please go to Insights on Compass to register your attendance, or call the office on 9885 3624. Please note that your current Working With Children Check will need to be lodged with the office before you can volunteer.

The cost of the event is $8.00, which will be taken from the pre-paid Excursion Levy. If you have not paid the Excursion Levy, you will need to make payment either through Compass or the at the office.

Please log in to Compass to give consent and payment for this event by Tuesday August 15.

Kind regards,

Laurence Barre
