Student Action Leadership Teams (SALT)


All students in years 5 and 6 are in a Leadership Team which have various roles that lead the whole school community creatively to enhance student engagement and promote student voice.

 

PROMOTION TEAM aims to:
  • ensure a positive image of GIPS is presented
  • host school tours and promote our school to the community.
  • speak at parent curriculums event or school reviews
  • analyse student surveys and present analysis to the school community.
 
VISUAL ARTS TEAM aims to
  • increase student displays of artworks
  • work with other students to support them to develop art techniques
  • use art to beautify the school
 
 
WELLBEING TEAM aims to:
  • promote our Resilience program
  • organise our 'Values' Teapot Morning Tea for 20 students with our Principal and Assistant Principal. These students have demonstrated our values over the month.
  • encourage ‘upstanding’ behaviour that prevents bullying.

PERFORMING ARTS TEAM aims to:

  • host whole school events like 'GIPS has got talent'
  • perform at assemblies
  • promote the enjoyment of drama and music.
 
HEALTH TEAM aims to:
  • host lunchtime sport events for younger students
  • encourage fair play and good sportsmanship
  • hosting events at local kindergartens.
 
SUSTAINABILITY TEAM (WASTEBUSTERS) aims to:
  • encourage people to respect our environment
  • monitor school rubbish and paper recycling 
  • look at the ways we can minimise our impact on the environment.

TECHNOLOGIES (ICT) TEAM aims to:
  • develop promotional materials using technology
  • teaching others, including younger students
  • make sure our ICT equipment is respected
  • promote Cybersafety through the eSMART program.
